A short note that for auspicious occasions other than a birthday, the Seven Tamnan alone is chanted, in one of its three forms.

- Consulted when planning the chanting for an auspicious occasion other than a birthday.
A note on this chant. The book prints this chant in Pali only, with no Thai translation. The English here is a working translation prepared for this edition — it is not the book's own, and has not yet been checked by a teacher.
Historical background
Six lines, and it exists to answer one question: what is chanted at everything else. The birthday ceremony has its own order on the page before; this covers the rest.
The answer is simple enough that the page is mostly a pointer to the three orders that follow it.
Meaning and purpose
Apart from the birthday merit-making, it is usual to chant the Seven Tamnan only. One collection covers house blessings, weddings, new businesses and the rest, with no text chosen for the particular occasion.
What varies instead is length, and the page lists the three forms by name: in full, middling, and short. The decision to be made is not what to chant but how long to chant it.
That is a quietly practical piece of design. A tradition that assigned a different text to every kind of occasion would need somebody to know them all; this one needs somebody to know one collection and three lengths.
