The exchange between two monks by which a lesser offence is confessed and undertaken not to be repeated.

Historical background
Most monastic offences are cleared not by penance but by being told to another monk. This page prints the whole exchange, marked throughout with who speaks — พรรษาอ่อน the junior, พรรษาแก่ the senior.
It is printed in two directions, because either monk may be the one confessing, and the forms of address change accordingly.
Meaning and purpose
The confession is deliberately unspecific: I have fallen into many offences of various kinds; I confess them in your presence. Nothing is itemised. What is required is that the fact be stated to somebody who hears it.
Then the question that makes it more than a formality — do you see those offences, friend? — and the answer, yes, venerable sir, I see them. Seeing here means acknowledging, and the exchange will not proceed until it has been said aloud.
The undertaking that closes it is put three times over, once for each door of action: I shall not act thus again; I shall not speak thus again; I shall not think thus again. The third is the one no witness could ever verify, and it is included anyway.
